Site Selection & Building Chuck Leman [Email]

To coordinate labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need."

Family Selection & Support Celia Elliott & Mike Stemle [Email]

The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity.
Once a family has been selected, the committee also assigns a liaison to assist the family through the entire build process, including classes, sweat equity and closing.

Resource Development/Fundraising Gina Stierwalt [Email]

To raise sufficient money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization in order that simple, decent housing can be built with Partner Families. In addition, this committee performs outreach work to advertise the mission and goals of Habitat to organizations in the community.

Finance Jeff Livesay [Email]

Oversight of our affiliate's financial health and practices.

Women Build Homes Gina Stierwalt [Email]

The Women Build program empowers women to build Habitat for Humanity homes, enabling them to positively impact the lives of children by making homeownership a present reality for families.

Women Build is not about excluding men; it’s about including women. Women are often intimidated on a “mixed” construction site; but in the comfortable environment of a Women Build site, they quickly learn construction skills. When women come together in a supportive environment, they feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and increased self-esteem.

This committee meets on an ongoing basis to fund women builds.

Volunteer George Kieffer [Email]

Recruits, interviews, trains and coordinates volunteers to carry out Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County's mission in Champaign County.
