Shelter from rain, wind and sun is a basic human need.  With your help, more deserving families can have decent places to call home. Give families in need shelter, self-respect and the hope of a better life. ReStore profits pay for most of the overhead costs of operating Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County. By covering our own costs, we are able to direct every dollar designated for home building goes to home building. Our ministry puts faith into action through empowerment and hard work. And it’s easy for you to help!

Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County and ReStore is a donor, as well. We now fully participate in Habitat for Humanity International's tithing program, with 10% of funds raised for each home going to a sister affiliate (currently Habitat Mexico). You have helped us serve over 50 families in Champaign County and around the world.

Build sponsorship opportunities

Our affiliate raises $64,500 - $70,000 for each new home. The actual total cost of our homes ranges from $70,000 - $100,000 contingent on the nature of the land under development, in-kind donations, insurance and staffing. The difference between the funds raised and the actual cost is made up through the Fund for Humanity (mortgage payments made by current home owners) and our home improvement ReStore. Each home is sold for the same amount donated: $64,500 for a 3-bedroom home and $70,000 for a 4-bedroom home. Read more here.

Estate Planning

Estate gifts are a living legacy, a gift to the generations of home owners you've come to know already and those who have yet to earn this hand up. Making a donation through your estate is as simple as using the following language on your IRA, insurance policy, other beneficiary designation forms, your will or living trust:

"I leave (e.g. % of your estate, $ amount, residue) to Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, Inc. (Tax ID 37-1277094) located in Champaign, Illinois, to support their work in building relationships and strengthening community through the construction of new homes with qualified low-income families."
