Do you remember the bare patch of ground at 1105 N.
Goodwin? In just one week our partners at Horizon Hobby put up the
entire exterior of the new home - and landscaping thanks to Prairie
Gardens.
On Horizon's off weeks, friends from IBEW Local
601, Illiana Insulation, Lanz Heating, Lanz Plumbing, Larson, Lone
Pine Electric, Rogers Seamless Gutter and Sam's Drywall have donated
their time and talents to keep Amber's house affordable and up to
code.
This week, Amber spent time choosing all of the light
fixtures and counter tops.
Next week the volunteers from
Horizon Hobby will again work their magic, installing appliances,
painting, putting down the floors and window treatments.
Please plan to join us for the home dedication on Saturday,
November 3 at 10 a.m. (1105 N Goodwin, Urbana).

Get to know Maricela
better What would owning your own home mean to your
family's future? It means the beginning of a new stage, a
sense of freedom and the possibility of a better life.
How
do balance being a mom, working and going to school? It has
been a little complicated, but I always find a time of the day to
communicate with my children about anything they want to tell me. I
usually study at night when they sleep and I focus better. At school
I teach and try to do my best. I try to find 15 minutes a day to
relax and go on.
