Feelin' arty

Habitat's green and blue just weren't enough to keep our Megan Wolf from 40 North/88 West's mission to build community through arts, culture, and entertainment.

This is both a joyous and sad time for Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County and ReStore. We celebrate with Megan and the leadership of 40 North as she returns to her roots and greatest passion. But we will miss her creativity, humor and exemplary work.

In her time with us, Megan has developed energetic initiatives, rejuvenated our relationships with donors and set the standard for Habitat for Humanity's communication with sponsors at all levels. Knowing that she will remain in Champaign County, working with us all to improve our home, is a blessing.

We have begun accepting applications for the Director of Marketing and Development. For the full position description and how to apply, click here.

Brought to you by Thrivent Builds Homes

Before and after: Bradley Ave.

Last Saturday's dedication of two homes built in partnership with Thrivent Builds Homes, the listeners of the Illini Radio Group stations and area Lutheran congregations was as beautiful as the weather.

The depth of gratitude on the Dominguez and Allen faces, the feeling that they knew they were teetering at the beginning of a new path, was something we all shared.

Volunteers, from the work site and ReStore, witnessed the miracle of giving a hand up, not a hand out.

Board members and staff continued to lend support and love to those who make our work so easy and rich.

We are caught up in the wonder: it really happened, it really works. It is hard to focus beyond the miracle of caring people in action.

Thank you.
