On Wednesday, 11 July from 6 - 730pm, Habitat
staff, Board members and women from our community will meet to
launch our Women Build Homes partnership with the Corona family.
The goals of the meeting will be to learn how the Habitat
home build program works, individual interest and level of
involvement in this first phase of fundraising. Maricela Corona will
be there to share her story.
If you would like to attend,
please contact Eileen Gebbie at 217-359-0507 x111 or write

| Welcome Patti! Welcome
Donna! |
| |
Please welcome Patti Darr as our new ReStore Volunteer
Manager. You may recognize Patti from the store as she has been
working as a ReStore Assistant since October 2006. She comes to us
from National Council of Teachers of English where she was Director
of Production Services. When she isn't working in her small garden,
assuming her duties as "Uniform Mom" for the Mahomet-Seymour High
School Marching Band, or playing with her new dog, Lu Lu, an English
Bulldog, you will likely find her and the family on Clinton Lake.
You may reach Patti at 355-6460 ext. #116 or
volunteer@cuhabitat.org.
Please welcome Donna Napier as our
new ReStore Assistant. After working 35 years for Federal Civil
Service, she retired in Sep 2005 from the U.S. Army Construction
Engineering Research laboratory (CERL). The ReStore isn't new to
Donna and her family; she starting volunteering in November 2005
cleaning and pricing new merchandise and in January 2006 became
their regular Tuesday afternoon cashier. Husband, Tom, is an
Architect for the US Army CERL and has volunteered at ReStore since
2004 working in the receiving area and driving the delivery truck.
Youngest son, Mark, just graduated from Champaign Central High
School at the end of May, has volunteered at the store since 2005. A
big project for Mark was building a shelving unit to display sinks
and basins at the former HOMEWORKS location. Her oldest son, Roy,
lives and works in Bloomington. Donna enjoys flower gardening,
biking, traveling, not doing laundry, and in her spare time is an
Avon representative. |
