| Help Wanted: Committee
Leadership |
| |
Leadership at Habitat for Humanity takes many forms:
running the cash register, distributing fliers, framing a house,
meeting with donors. Two of our committees are in need of help.
Please consider joining our staff and your neighbors in building
relationships, community and homes.
VOLUNTEER
COMMITTEE Who: Anyone with a passion for eliminating poverty
housing
What: Assist staff (ReStore Volunteer Manager, Build
Volunteer Manager, Development Director, Executive Director) in
volunteer and stakeholder retention and recognition.
When:
The minimum commitment is one hour-long monthly meeting and one
additional project (see below). All public events will be set at the
beginning of our build year (we are currently in
06-07).
How:
1. Planning and staffing events for
volunteers and leaders (Happy Hours, family days, events with
Habitat home owners, award ceremonies, Farmer's Market, fundraising
events)
2. Assist both Volunteer Managers in picking
volunteers for recognition
3. Assist with volunteer
orientations for home builds and the ReStore
4. Assist with
our mission to build relationships by contacting a set number of
volunteers each month for feedback and support
FINANCE
COMMITTEE Who: Anyone with a passion for eliminating poverty
housing and an eye for financial detail.
What: Assist staff
and Board of Directors (Development Director, Financial Manager,
Executive Director, ReStore Manager, Treasurer) in strengthening and
protecting the organization by offering fiscal oversight and
leadership to help meet the monetary goals and needs of the Habitat
for Humanity of Champaign County.
When: The minimum
commitment is one hour-long monthly meeting and one additional
project (see below).
How: 1. Assist in one of the
committee's annual goals (e.g. streamline the budget)
2.
Assume responsibility for a daily cash report (one of the six done
each week, in the office, during business hours) |
