Habitat
for Humanity of Champaign County is calling for women to participate in
a local “Women Build” project. Women Build is a program of Habitat for
Humanity International that encourages women to address the crisis of
children in poverty by building homes with families in need.
One third of Illinoisans living in poverty are children (2007 Report on Illinois Poverty).
Participation includes fundraising, planning the home build and working on the build site.
Champaign County has an excellent history of women building homes with
other women, including the Rachel Pettis family in 1999 and the Pamela
Williams family in 2002.
Please join us in building community, building relationships and building a home with the Maricela Corona family. The home will be built at 114 N Cottage Grove in Urbana.
Donate in honor of your mother - and all hard-working women - today.
Participation includes fundraising, planning the home build and working on the build site. Call 217-359-0507 x111 or mail director@cuhabitat.org to get involved. |
